I took Meadow to the public library the other day because she loves it. It’s a great space for the kiddos but it’s the cold season. ? Meadow was playing when I hear in the background a mom say “does that kid have a runny …
We decided to head to San Diego for memorial weekend. Our goal was to have a relaxing time while our kids had plenty to do. Mitchell and I did not want to spend any time driving so beach proximity was important.
We booked our vacation at Loews Coronado Bay Resort and it was perfect. The resort has three pools, including an adult only pool, four different eatery options, and excellent in-room dining service.
The resort is on Coronado Island and there are ocean views in every direction.
The resort provides a short golf cart ride to the beach where you are given beach towels and sand toys if needed. The day we visited the beach the staff members were flying kites with kids.
There is also a weekend activity guide for children that includes S’mores roast, Dive-in movie (watching a movie from the pool), cupcake creator class and a scavenger hunt that takes you on an adventure throughout the resort.
We loved dining at the cantina by the pool. They had the best vegan tacos; fried avocado, roasted carrot, and mushroom with arugula.
Although we were across from the beach, Meadow’s (our 4-year-old daughter) favorite activity was swimming at the pool. They provided goggles, noodles, floaties and she loved it! It was so much fun.
The town Coronado had a charming downtown scene with plenty of cafes and restaurants.
During our stay, we decided to check out La Jolla Cove and I’m so glad we did, it was so beautiful. Meadow had a blast finding little crabs and ladybugs on the beach.
On the last day of our stay, we headed to the beach again. We went to Silver Strand State Beach which is supposed to be the best beach in San Diego.
And it was fantastic. Sedona enjoyed dipping her toes in the ocean for the first time.
It was the perfect way to celebrate Memorial Day weekend.
