Her little hiking shoes are too cute.
Earthing, absorbing earths electrons.
Today we went to Todd lake off of the cascade lakes highway, and it had the prettiest views of mt. bachelor. There was a huge grassy area and we let Cherise run off leash with Meadow. Afterwards we went on an easy little hike around the lake. I love that Mitchell and I have been able to incorporate parenthood with all of our favorite pastimes. We just don’t have any expectations, everything takes a little longer and most of the time it doesn’t go as planned but that’s the beauty of it. Meadow will want out of her backpack to walk with us and she forces us to slow down, look up at the trees, feel the pines, notice the tree sap, and play with the ants. We’re not so focused on finishing the hike but rather staying in the moment.
The other day I stumbled on “earthing” and it’s when you walk barefoot on grass, soil or sand. The theory is that we have always been in contact with earth until recent years and when we feel the earth our bodies bind with negative charged free electrons. As a result, you sleep better, helps with chronic pain, anti inflammatory etc.We are all about digging our feet in the earth.
In other news, we are taking Meadow to her first music festival next weekend and I can hardly wait! It’s going to be so fun, I’m excited to share with you guys. Hope you have a lovely week and go walk on some dirt!
