Cultus Lake

It has been toasty in Bend so we headed to cultus lake where we heard there’s a nice beach that is great for children and it did not disappoint.

Cultus is a natural glacier-formed lake located 48 miles southwest of Bend.

The water was surprisingly warm and when I would close my eyes and feel the wind and listen to the waves, it felt like I was by the ocean.

 It was so beautiful!

It has less traffic than larger lakes, and we found the perfect sandy beach to sunbathe. The whole lake is surrounded by pines and it sits at the base of  the North cultus mountain.

Meadow was in the water the whole time, her new thing is stacking rocks and lifting them and tossing them into the water. Sometimes she grabs HUGE rocks and I’m horrified of her dropping it on her feet but she’s a pretty strong baby, haha. She kept putting her head in the water and blowing bubbles. It was pretty goofy. Dogs are allowed so we brought our dog, Cherise  and she also got to swim. She had a blast running around, swimming and she ate half of our watermelon while we were looking away, lucky dog!

At one point, we took Meadow’s diaper off and she was just wearing her bathing suit when all the sudden I notice her poop face. I start freaking out and telling Mitchell “she is about to poop!!!” so Mitchell being the awesome dad that he is, takes her bottoms off and catches the poop with a diaper, hahah! Oh my gosh, we have become so gross!  We have talked about how nothing Meadow does grosses us out, for example, she chewed a carrot and then put it in my mouth. Not cool but I didn’t care, what is happening to us?!? After that she wore a diaper the rest of the time, lol.

It was such a lovely time, can’t wait to go back and stay a couple nights. I highly recommend it to everyone!
